Ministry of Health Receives New PIVOT Ambulances

On April 18, 2017, PIVOT leadership visited the nation’s capital, Antananarivo, to present the Ministry of Health with two new ambulances. These fully-equipped vehicles are to be integrated into Ifanadiana District’s ambulance referral network, which was launched by PIVOT in 2015. The Minister of Public Health, Pr. Mamy Lalatiana Andriamanarivo, and his senior staff were present at the ceremony. The Minister recognized the “great work done by PIVOT” and emphasized that the new ambulances will help to increase the population’s access to health services and save lives in the district.

On April 25, the Regional Director of Health and other local authorities received the two new ambulances at the Ifanadiana District Hospital. The dedication of the new ambulances was televised nation-wide and received news coverage by national Malagasy outlets News Mada and Midi-Madagasikara.

PIVOT’s ambulance referral network is critical to providing a continuum of care from the local communities to the health centers to the district hospital.
