Baltimore Event Raises $100,000 For PIVOT!
On Saturday, November 12th, 114 people contributed over $100,000 at an event in Baltimore to support PIVOT’s vital work in Madagascar. Teddy Rouse and Daisy Barquist welcomed guests to their new home in the Fells Point neighborhood, a “passive house” that has almost finished its construction. Members of the host committee pledged to match all gifts dollar for dollar up to a total of $50,000. Guests texted their donations during the event and watched a real-time online digital thermometer climb as the total reached and exceeded the challenge mark, resulting in a total of $100,459 being raised to support PIVOT.
Host committee members included Erik and Meredith Nachbahr, Teddy Rouse, Daisy Barquist, Molly Norton, John Renner, Myles Perkins, Christina Lindgren, Margaret Allen, Phil Perkins, and Jimmy Rouse. It was an exciting night for the PIVOT community and a significant step forward in providing quality health care and strengthening the public health system in Madagascar.
