WHO WE ARE
Led by those closest to the work
Driven by a fundamental belief in health as a human right, our teams work in solidarity with the communities we serve to innovate and implement systems that are built to last.

OUR GUIDING PRINCIPLE
“Ny fahasalamana no voalohan-karena”
“Health is the first wealth”
– Malagasy proverb
At Pivot, we believe health is the foundation upon which opportunity, dignity, and prosperity are built. This principle underpins our core organizational values, guiding how we partner with communities and government to strengthen health systems for the long term.

OUR CORE VALUES
Health as a human right
Every person deserves access to high-quality care, regardless of complexity, disease burden, or social and geographic barriers.
Solidarity
We work closely with the communities we serve and the MoPH to ensure a patient-centered approach to achieve shared health objectives.
Humility
We know we don’t have all the answers – continuous learning through data as well as patient and partner feedback are crucial to refining our strategy.
Curiosity
Scientific inquiry is innate to our culture – we ask questions to continuously deepen our understanding of health determinants and improve our interventions.
Bias toward action
We take every opportunity we can to save lives, implementing solutions that serve the needs of now while strengthening systems for the future.
Sustainability
Our program models are built for continuity, focusing on systems strengthening, clear transition plans, and long-term government ownership.
Accountability
We maintain transparent operations for our partners and funders, ensuring we remain aligned in prioritizing the health needs of those we serve.
Embracing complexity
We don’t shy away from the seemingly intractable; we tackle health challenges with integrated data systems and transformative science.
MEET THE TEAM
Expertise rooted in community
We prioritize proximate leadership and community-informed design.
Pivot’s strategy is deeply informed by the priorities of the Malagasy government, co-designed in collaboration with the communities we serve. Our team and Board comprise a network of diverse expertise across disciplines, and foster an enabling environment for innovative solutions to complex problems.
